Denko-e Sesshin

Denko-e Sesshin is part of a cycle of four traditional sesshins initiated by Kobun, Jikoji's founder.

Denko-e Sesshin is led this year by Oshin Jennings. Oshin is a Guiding Teacher at Jikoji Zen Center, senior dharma teacher in the Phoenix Cloud lineage of Kobun Chino Roshi, & leader of the No Barrier Zen Sangha and has taught at Jikoji regularly for the past few years. 

Those attending will be asked to help with some of the duties during sesshin, help with doan-ryo, help in the kitchen, help with serving meals and cleanup.

All are welcome! Please sign up below to register for the Sesshin. Oryoki meals are provided. You can reqeust Oryoki instruction when registering and we also recommend this video overview.

Cost:  
For those joining the sesshin on site, the cost is $100/per overnight, $60/per overnight camping, and $40/per day for daytime visits.

To help maintain as best we can the intimacy and integrity of an in-person gathering, we ask all who join us online to please observe the following practices.

  2. Keep microphone muted unless speaking during discussion periods.
  3. Maintain zendo silence during meditation periods and while waiting for discussion period to begin.
  4. Keep camera on and maintain visibility during discussion periods.
  5. Anonymous participation online is not allowed, as it would not be in person.
