Our Dharma Talk this week will be by Guiding Teacher Oshin Jennings

Ōshin Jennings is the founder of No Barriers Zen, a Zen Buddhist community in Washington, DC and online. Ōshin is the first known Deaf Buddhist priest and received Dharma transmission from Shoho Michael Newhall in 2022. He has made it his mission to use his experiences as a Deaf and disabled practitioner to help make meditation practices and the Dharma more accessible. Ōshin is also a psychotherapist and artist, and he is working on translating the sutras into ASL with his community.

Registration ensures we have the capacity and accommodations available for your visit. The requested donation to support this event (including staffing, facilities, guidance, meditation, a dharma talk, social lunch, access to our facility and open space trails) is $20 per person. Zoom attendees are welcome to leave a donation if they wish. Thank you for your support!

To help maintain as best we can the intimacy and integrity of an in-person gathering, we ask all who join us online to please observe the following practices.

  1. Sign in using your real name.

  2. Keep the microphone muted unless speaking during discussion periods.

  3. Maintain zendo silence during meditation periods and while waiting for the discussion period to begin.

  4. Keep the camera on and maintain facial visibility during the discussion period.

  5. Anonymous participation online will not be permitted, as it would not be permitted in person.
